THE NAME

About Berashith Ministry

Berashith is the Hebrew for “In Beginning” — “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)

The word Berashith begins with Beit (second letter of the Hebrew alphabet) and not with the first letter, Alef, which refers to the Father.

Reish points to the Head. Beit Reish is BAR — the Head of the Tent is the Son. All authority is given to the Son, Jesus (Matthew 28:18). Therefore, Beit Reish is the SON and points to Yahshua HaMashiach.

The next letter in Berashith is Alef — pointing to the Father. Shin looks like the letter “W” and points to Teeth, referring to Destruction. Yod refers to a hand and/or work — doing something with the hand. Tav refers to the Cross.

Alef Shin points to the Son of GOD and means fire, strong, powerful, destruction — fire in the Bush (bush not consumed).

Putting everything together, BERASHITH means:
“The Son of God is destroyed by His own hand willingly on the Cross.”

Our Legal Standing

Berashith Ministry is a Registered NPO approved by SARS for purposes of Section 18A of the Act. All Donations to the Organization are deductible in the hands of donors in terms of and subject to the restrictions prescribed in Section 18A of the Income Tax Act 1962.

Henceforth, on request of any donation made, Berashith Ministry can and will issue an Article 18A Receipt Certificate to the donor, and the total amount is deductible from NET TAXABLE INCOME.

Notwithstanding the fact that this ministry predominately focuses on the “healing of the wounded soul”, please feel free to contact Estre-Lize for shepherding, for support, or just to have somebody with an ear to listen to. You are part of a new family in Christ and we care for each other.

In the epistle to the Ephesians, Paul talks about the entire building that is under construction and continually growing under his supervision until it rises up completed as the holy temple of the Lord himself (Ephesians 2:21 TPT). Paul points to YOU as an individual and says that you are raising like the perfectly fitted stones of the temple — your lives being built up together upon the ideal foundation laid by the apostles and prophets, connected to the Head Cornerstone of the building, the Anointed One, Jesus Christ Himself!

He appointed some with grace to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors (shepherds), and teachers — to nurture and prepare all the holy believers to do their own works of ministry, enlarging and building up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11–12), until we become one perfect man with the full dimensions of spiritual maturity, fully developed into the abundance of Christ (Ephesians 4:13).
